Welcome to the Madison Bicycle Center!

We’re a brand new bicycle-focused community center, a collaboration between local bike non-profit Madison Freewheel Bike Co., and the City of Madison. We’re located in the heart of Madison’s downtown: at the new Judge Doyle Square project, at 202 S. Pinckney Street. Read about what’s going on this month, here.

No matter your skill level or bicycling experience, we offer bicyclists like you all the services, amenities, and education you need to get moving and get connected.

When the risk of COVID is reduced, we’ll open fully for membership! Members will have access to our complete facility, including bike racks, personal lockers, changing rooms, bike wash station, and more! Memberships are perfect for cyclists who live or work downtown. We also offer day passes.

Buy a Bike, Fix a Bike

We are a bike retailer and a full-service bike repair shop! Buy one of our recycled bikes, use our open shop space (members only), or drop your bike off for service with one of our friendly mechanics.

During the warm months, we’ll host weekly classes on fundamental bike riding and maintenance skills. For now call to make an appointment, for one on one learning at your skill level! Group classes are in the plans for the summer.

The Madison Bike Center is more than just a place to fix your bike! Madison is one of the most friendly cities in the world for cyclists, and we’re proud to be a treasure trove of information. We’ll refer you to special events like group rides, bike routes inside and outside the city, and everything you can visit along the way.
