Welcome to the Madison Bicycle Center!

The MBC is a bicycle-focused community center, a collaboration between local bike non-profit Madison Freewheel Bike Co, and the City of Madison. We’re located in the heart of Madison’s downtown: at the new Judge Doyle Square project, at 202 S. Pinckney Street, on the Wisconsin State Capitol’s outer loop. Read about what’s going on this month, here.

No matter your skill level or bicycling experience, we offer all the services, amenities, and education you need to get moving and get connected.

Memberships Coming Soon!

As Dane County gets back to normal, we’re getting back to normal, too! We’re planning to welcome members to the Madison Bike Center very soon.

Memberships are perfect for cyclists who live or work downtown. We will offer members access to our complete facility, including bike racks, personal lockers, changing rooms, our bike wash station, and more! We will offer both monthly and daily passes.

Buy a Bike, Fix a Bike

We sell used and vintage bicycles, refurbished and warrantied, and we are a full-service bike repair shop! Buy a new-to-you bike, or drop off your current ride for service.

We’re looking for instructors to teach weekly classes on basic bike maintenance, or series or one-off classes on more specialized topics. (Interested in teaching? Drop us an email.)

In the meantime, we’re offering one-on-one mechanical instruction at your skill level. Give us a call to set up an appointment. All our instruction is provided by donation.

Madison is one of the most friendly cities in the world for cyclists. We’ll refer you to special events like group rides, bike routes inside and outside the city, and everything you can visit on your journey.
